About Vida Carbon Guide

Independent educational guide, relaunched in 2026. Not affiliated with Vida Carbon Corp, Vida Energy or any carbon-credit seller. Nothing here is investment advice.

Vida Carbon Guide explains carbon markets in plain language for people who are not carbon traders: consumers who see "carbon neutral" on a product, and small business owners who have been asked about their emissions or offered credits.

The site was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management and has no connection to earlier owners of the domain. Pages from the earlier website were not carried over.

What we do

We write guides on how carbon markets work, what a credit is, how to judge quality and how to avoid investment scams. We also built the carbon credit quality checklist on the homepage, which turns the main quality questions into a quick verdict on an offer you are considering.

What we don't do

We don't sell, broker, rate or retire carbon credits, and we don't take commissions or referral fees. We don't run projects, and we don't recommend specific projects or sellers. We have no investors to keep happy and nothing to promote. Nothing on this site is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice.

How we write

The guides are written by the Vida Carbon Guide editorial team. We rely on primary sources wherever we can: the rules published by crediting programs and the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market, government and regulator material, and peer-reviewed research. Carbon market rules change often, so we date every guide and phrase time-sensitive points carefully. When we cite a figure, we say where it comes from.

If you spot a mistake or something out of date, please tell us at contact@vidacarbon.com. We correct errors and update the date on the page.

Names we mention

We mention registries, standards bodies and regulators by name because readers need to know what to look for. Vida Carbon Guide is not affiliated with Verra, Gold Standard, ACR, Climate Action Reserve, the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market, any government agency or any carbon-credit seller.
